Is education powerful to change lives?

My focus with my discussion here is on the question "Is education powerful enough to change the lives of the youngsters?

People have thought that all academic institutions have played a vital role in the transformation of the students. The students are the target individuals who would be trained and molded to become better persons in the future. Likewise, part of the objectives of the schools is to promote and provide better and more pleasant learning environments to the students; that is why, any academic or educational institutions have created and designed different techniques and strategies to improve learning needs of the students. Different approaches and methods have been applied by all schools in order to procure better learning opportunities. However, some students if not all have not changed. I am talking about a change in character- the values they have. I believe they have gained good values and wisdom, but I think something has happened along the way. Is there lacking on the part of the academic institutions? or is it the other way around?

Education is not powerful enough to change lives of the students. The reason for this is the development of the curricula. I have no enough information about what really happens because I am not into engaging myself on the curriculum development. My observation is this. Philosophical foundation of education is not given to all fields of expertise. This course must given to all fields of disciplines but not to all education courses alone.

I know just a bit that if all schools or universities have this subject course there would have been enough knowledge to the students in understanding the true meaning of education. By this, the students should be guided with philosophy, their ideals and attitudes.
